Two years ago Footprints Trustees committed to addressing the shortfall of qualified Conductive Education staff available and made the decision to train Conductor Assistants (CAs) to work in our Centre.

The CA course is designed for assistants working alongside Conductors who wish to develop their skills and understanding of Conductive Education. The level 3 certificate is awarded by the Open College Network and is a unique qualification for Conductor Assistants. Made up of eight units, it covers areas such as facilitation, observation, task series, and the daily routine.

We’re proud to have such an incredibly knowledgeable and experienced team supporting local families – with Kirsten and Erika as established Conductors, Abbey-Rose as a Junior Conductor, Karen, and Jo as Conductor Assistants, sessional support from Helena (also CA qualified), and Debra as a volunteer, we are reinforcing our commitment to our children and parents.

Many congratulations, Karen, Jo, and Helena, you’re the first Conductor Assistants in our area – it’s exciting!

Karen is also trained to deliver speech and language therapy to children with Down’s syndrome and with Miriam runs our Monday speech sessions for older children with DS  https://www.footprintscec.org/what-we-do/our-services/
