Nationally, 300 local charities have been chosen to celebrate 300 years of Freemasonry, and School for Parents is thrilled to be chosen as one of the charities in the Notts Regional Province.
Your vote for our charity will make a world of difference to the 64 families that need and depend on our service. Just 30 seconds of your time will help mums like A, who said: “Attending School for Parents has helped me cope and totally changed my outlook – I couldn’t actually cope without it. Conductive Education is not a chore or lonely or upsetting; it’s something we enjoy doing together. It’s a great atmosphere and so informal. I’d be lost without it, and I can actually feel my mood dip when it’s not on for the holidays.”
We are a local charity based in Sneinton, Nottingham providing a range of services to disabled children and their families from the city or wider Notts area. Following the principles and practices of Conductive Education – a holistic education approach used to help disabled children learn the life skills that come more naturally to others, we teach practical ways to manage the additional daily challenges that accompany a disability.
We aim to enrich the lives of disabled children by developing their independence and continue to acknowledge and value the vital role of families in their child’s development. Last year 90% of our children ‘graduated’ to mainstream education; 91% improved movement and co-ordination skills, 86% grew in self-confidence, and 90% achieved individual goals.
