Pulp Friction To Run Our New Community Coffee Bar!

Our New Coffee Bar

The Coffee Bar (name to be announced!) will be run by Pulp Friction on a day-by-day basis and will help Pulp Friction Members develop their social, independence and work readiness skills, improving their confidence and wellbeing. By bringing our communities together, and seeing the Pulp Friction members, it will help give the children and families we work with hope for their futures.

The collaboration between Pulp Friction and Footprints to establish the Coffee Bar brings a wealth of benefits, not only for the service users of Pulp Friction and Footprints, but for the entire community of Clifton. This partnership combines the expertise and visions of both charities, resulting in a space that is inclusive, supportive, and enriching for all. For our charities’ communities, the coffee bar serves as much more than just a place to enjoy a warm drink, it becomes a hub of opportunity and inclusion.

The real-world experience of working in the coffee bar, from customer service to operational tasks, equips Pulp Friction’s members with the confidence and abilities they need for future employment. And the safe and nurturing environment provided by Footprints ensures that mobility and communication needs are holistically supported. These combined efforts empower individuals to achieve greater independence and self-esteem, enhancing their overall quality of life.

Collaboration

For Footprints’ families and children, the coffee bar offers a space where parents and siblings can relax, connect, and exchange experiences with others who understand their challenges. Our Coffee Bar will ensure that everyone, regardless of ability, feels welcomed and supported, creating a sense of belonging and opportunities for families to strengthen their bonds in an understanding and inclusive setting.

Stephen Frew, Business and Charity Manager at Footprints, explained “we’ve been planning for our Coffee Bar as part of our new Footprints Centre since we first received the keys in 2024.

We are incredibly excited to be working in partnership with Pulp Friction, another Nottingham charity, which shares the same mission as Footprints – to empower and enable young people to achieve their potential. We can’t wait to open the doors and for that first cup of coffee to be served!”

Our new Coffee Bar also stands as a beacon of inclusivity for the wider Clifton community and members of the public. It provides a welcoming space where everyone can gather, interact, and build relationships. By bringing together diverse groups of people, our Coffee Bar will promote understanding, reduce stigma, and build bridges between the disabled and non-disabled communities.

Our exciting collaboration exemplifies how charity partnerships can create spaces that are not only functional but transformative. It positions the coffee bar as a cornerstone of the Clifton community, demonstrating the power of collaboration in fostering inclusion, opportunity, and shared prosperity.

Support For Our Coffee Bar and Centre

We have been transforming our new Footprints Centre over the last year, and thanks to a donation and support from FHP, are currently in the middle of developing our new coffee bar, with works taking place over the last couple of weeks.
